50 dogs on death row to be executed by gunshot

what would you do?

Our Story

One brave woman refused to just stand by, and that is how Pawssion Project was born.

Founded in October 2018 by Malou Perez, Pawssion Project Foundation Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming abused, abandoned and neglected animals.

Pawssion Project began in Bacolod, armed simply with a lot of hope, courage and the unwavering support of a few good friends. After that first pound rescue, numerous reports poured in one after another, which eventually led to the opening of a second shelter in Bulacan in mid 2019.

Since then, the journey has led Pawssion Project to more than 3000 rescues, and thankfully over 2000 rehomed animals.

However, the problem is far greater than what Pawssion Project and other animal welfare organizations alone can surmount.

Dogs continue to be executed in city pounds, and the number of strays and neglected pets are rising dramatically. But we believe that WE CAN ALL DO SOMETHING to help improve animal welfare in our country. Do not close your eyes to animal cruelty, help spread awareness that there is a law against it (RA8485). Be a responsible pet owner and encourage others to do the same. Promote neutering of pets to help control overpopulation. Adopt, foster, sponsor, volunteer, donate or advocate. Every little action counts.

The road to better animal welfare is long, and we at Pawssion Project will continue on our journey to be the voice of our helpless furry friends. But we need all the help we can get. Will you join us?

Our Mission

To rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abused, abandoned and neglected animals.

Our Vision

The creation of animal-friendly communities that foster kindness to all living creatures with the goal of achieving the Five Freedoms for all stray animals.

Our Initiatives

Everyday, we get hundreds of reports on animal cruelty, hit and run cases, abuse and neglect. Our dedicated team of volunteers and caretakers work tirelessly to help accommodate dogs and cats according to our available resources. Every rescued animal is brought to a private clinic for proper assessment and treatment before they are brought to the shelter for rehabilitation.

WHY IS THERE A NEED TO RESCUE?

There are over 12 million stray animals in the Philippines.

PET & STRAY OVERPOPULATION is the root cause of all animal welfare issues. This is also because of the lack of education on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare being one of the least priorities of the government/.
We are a team of dedicated volunteers but we do not have our in-house vet and clinic so all new rescues are still brought to the clinic for proper assessment and treatment. We will always advocate for responsible rescuing because quality will always be more important than quantity – THRIVE NOT JUST SURVIVE.

We have 2 shelters with over 800 rescues being rehabilitated for rehoming

We rescue with the ultimate goal of rehoming our rescues to the best homes possible because when you adopt a rescue, you help change a life, and don’t be surprised if that life could be yours. We process adoption within the Philippines and even internationally.
Since 2018, we have already rehomed over 1000 dogs and cats to good homes. We have sent 4 dogs to Canada, we have a rescued dog from the pound now living her best life in Las Vegas, a Taal rescue in Europe, and over a thousand more living the lives they deserve.
Adopting from Pawssion Project is a beautiful journey that will change your lives. You just have to fill out the adoption form , wait for an online interview and once approved, you may then go and see your future best friend! You may choose from the rescues available on the website or our social media platforms or we can also recommend a rescue to you during the screening process. Ultimately, we still believe that once you have visited the shelter, the rescue will find you.

Feeding strays helps the homeless and voiceless animals survive. It also inspires people to be kind. It makes us realize how much power we have to change the lives of both animals and people. Have stray feeding become part of your routine.

We have always acknowledged that rescuing is just a band aid solution. This is why Pawssion Project firmly believes that KAPON is really the SOLUTION. Help save lives by sponsoring the neuter cost of a rescue!

TNVR stands for Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate and Release/Rehome. We start with stray feeding so we can gain the trust of the strays and then we catch them so they may be brought to the vet for vaccination and sterilization. We also tap stray feeders and assist them with TNVR Costs.

Every once in a while, when our resources permit, we hold mass spay and neuter events to help indigent pet owners, rescuers and advocates. You may also choose to sponsor a mass spay and neuter event by sending us an e-mail at partners@pawssionproject.org

We believe that spreading kindness and love, especially in times of emergencies and calamities, should be prioritized, and everything else will follow. In the Philippines, there are no dedicated government agencies.
