My Story:

Hi! My name is Coco. I was rescued last May 2020 during ECQ, when the Philippines was at the start of the Pandemic Lockdown.

If you think your situation at home was already bad, know that even with the horrible heat and temperature, I was left tied to a tree for 2 weeks without food and water. Luckily, a concerned citizen got help for me and sent photos and videos of my situation to @kitbarraquias & @pawssionproject. Even with the daily struggles of feeding, rescue requests and more, I’m so grateful they took action and chose to rescue me. @nellytsee immediately contacted rescuer Mary who went to the location right away, even had to reason with the checkpoint because she was not allowed to go through it at first. I felt sorry to have acted aggressively towards them, but only cause I was hungry, thirsty and in pain. You see the chain on my neck got embedded in my skin I even had to stay with homeless people the night I was rescued and and the nights after because Tondo was on hard lockdown.

It’s been 8 months since I moved in at the Bulacan Shelter and look how healthy and fluffy I’ve become! I love my caretaker a lot, especially when he takes me on walks. But I’m still a little distrustful of people I haven’t gotten the chance to get to know. I can be masungit and will snap when I’m suddenly touched. But I hope you know that I’m like this because I’m still recovering from my past trauma. If you give me enough time and space to adjust and get to know you, I will surely be the most loyal best friend you will ever have!
